[Burn versus Freeze]

good for just a programmer and an artist :)

pros: I liked the gameplay. Very unique and well thought-out. You should expand it!
The board-style game was unique in this competition full of platform games. It stands out, which is good :)

cons: the art made it very difficult to distinguish between colors. There's just too much going on.
there's no mute button - make sure you include one, as some people like to play games with their own music.
it was too simple, and the story didn't show through at all with the game. It's like giving a full background story to checkers.

Thanks for the review! I think you're right that the game didn't reflect much of the story. If I had time, I would have had a bit of story before each battle. (Believe it or not, the thing in the middle of the last level is a castle.) There is a mute button. You can find it on the first page. There should be an 'M' button next to the music.

you obviously have a head for programming. This is where I will start.

The problem is this: I was confused the second your game started playing. I couldn't figure out what to do where, or even which way was up.

First: You need a preloader.
Second: You need a "play" button
Third: A small tutorial (any tutorial larger without a medal in it will just bore everybody)
Fourth: Debug. Debug. Debug. I was in a corner, the ball was everywhere, and "me gusta" was laso everywhere. I am a programmer. I don't mean the ball was simply moving. I mean it tried to be everywhere at once. Which obviously doesn't work unless the setting for your game is quantum theory (an amazing game idea, by the way. I may need to use that somehow >.>)

Other than that, I see great potential in you. Not the game, unfortunately. I would be surprised if it lated judgement. But you. Keep going. Watch tutorials, read online sources. If you don't know how to do it, search google! That's what I did. Check out my profile, you will see a difference in the games.

good, but...

you should check out my flash submission, the biggest cheater, and it will tech you all the ways to cheat on these games. right-clicking isn't the only way to cheat.(make it to the last level on my game and see what i mean.)Otherwise, great game!

i still haven't viewed that flash, but i do know a second way to cheat.

right click, and when the menu pops up, click on "foreward" and you will go foreward a frame. do that enough and you win!

uhhh...

well, this is great, but...we need enemys or levels. This needs to go somewhere...If you submit a demo it at least needs to be half a story and a to be continued sign. A whole story is even better.

you do realize that this game is nearly impossible, right?
Ive ben playing for about an hour and I havent finished (supposedly)level 1 yet.
Most of the games here are like that.One guy actualy put up the wronf file.It was just a bunch of numbers.And it still got thru the (judgement).Whereas my best ones didnt make it thru.But anyway...work harder...make mre levels...

Oh theres only just the one level man!
At first it was just gonna be some animation of an Egg-pawn walking across the factory on a loop but then I thought of makin it into a game and packin it off to newgrounds! Shame about yours though, some guys just blam stuff without even looking at it! man I know the feeling huh?
